tele lens support


am considering buying a bogan #4320 telephoto lens support to use with my nikor d70 w/80-200 lens.
has anyone had any experience with this unit other types of tele lens supports?

  Just another name for a monopod I'm guessing. I don't think you'd need it that much for that size lens, but monopods are good for when you need to move around. I just had to get used to using one because the swivel point when you follow something isn't your neck anymore. It's away from you so you have to move your body differently, or you'll make the camera lean to the side.

Not a monopod, but a mount for camera and lens that fits atop the tripod head for use with a heavy lens that does not have a tripod ring. I haven't used it, but it seems a good, though inelegant solution. Better than hand-held and better than stressing the camera body's tripod mount.
