About Pastel Filter I would like to know about pastel filters. What effect will it create to a photograph? Can I use pastel filters for portrait photography? If so, how should I arrange the studio light to get the proper effect?

The top image at this page was created with the Cokin pastel filter. As you'll see, it creates a dreamy kind of look. You can use these for portraits, landscapes, whatever you are interested in. In the studio, use the same kind of lighting set-up as you would for other portraits; I like to use two lights, one slightly brighter than the other, both at 45 degree angles and using umbrellas to soften the light.
