how to photograph artwork for websites

I would like to know how to best digitally photograph my oil paintings so that I may publish them on my website. I have taken some digital pics & placed them on the site, but some have glare & in some the color is off. Have tryed using natural light, but think sunny day may cause glare on the surface of canvass with oils. perhaps overcast day is best, but fear rain. Artificial lighting causes the colors in paintings to be "off". What do you recommend?....Thanks, Marie.

Artificial lighting should not be a problem for digital if it has White Balance adjustment.
