Film Advance
This morning I was out taking photos with my Canon AE1. I was using a A1 winder and noticed that my counter was on 28 and my film rewind wasn't moving. When I reach the end of a roll the winder doesn't stop and the red light doesn't come on. It just keeps on going. With the back open so I can see what is hoppening, the winder cocks the shutter and the film just stays put. What do I have to do to fix it without spending more than I can get another camera for. Thank you very much. Marvin

After the film reaches the end I'm also hearing what sounds like a gear skipping.

Marvin - Unfortunately, it sounds like it's repair time. There isn't anything you can do, a repair shop would have to do it. Have no idea how much it would cost, but they often will give you an estimate so you can decide whether it's worth it or not. Good luck!
