Photography Question

Cannon E0S 300D Digital SLR Accesories.

Hi there,

I am interested in buying a Cannon E0S 300D Digital SLR camera, and learn alot from it and become a better photographer.

I am young and keen to learn more but I am not that exeperienced. I was wondering if they come with just a standard lens?

I do want to learn different techniques with my photography so I think I am going to need to purchase other lenses for this camera when I get it.

Can anyone give me advice for what kind of accesories (mainly lenses) I should get for this camera for someone who wants to put in alot of practise and learn alot more.

Thanks Jeff

The lens(es) you should get is dictated by the subjects you wish to photograph.

The standard zoom lens that is bundled with the 300D, the EF 18-55 f/3.5-5.6, is a good lens to start with. From there you can decide if you want wider angle or greater telephoto, larger maximum aperture, macro focusing, less distortion from a prime, etc.

Another thing I forget to ask is with this camera what kind of card to I need to buy to store all the photos... Can I get any information on Cards that go in this camera and card readers.

Do they come with the camera?

  Jeff,

No, the 300D does not come with a card (not included with the normal package). I use an IMB Microdrive in mine and a reader to transfer. The camera only has one slot that takes Type I and II CF cards.

You can find everything you could want to know here:

Hope that helps...

  I have another question.

With Normal SLR camera's you can buy a UV filter which has a job but also protects your lens aswell from any scratches etc. But can you get any kind of filter to put infront of your lens so it can protect it from damage or scraches etc?

  Same - Same....
The 300D uses the same lenses as the normal canon film SLRs. In fact, I have both the Digi Rebel and the film Rebel. I interchange the lenses regularly.
You can use any type of filter that will fit on the lenses.
