Can't really answer that because it depends on how bright, what film, what lens, what the kids are doing.
It'd be like asking how long should I cook my food in the oven and at what temperature?
Well, what are you cooking, what temperature?

The above post is correct but if it is a bright sunny day and you have kids playing, you want to use 100-200 sp film. If your camera has semi automatic modes, you might want to put it on TV (shutter priority) so that the camera automatically selects the correct aperture and you chose the shutter speed. This shutter speed will need to be relatively fast to stop the action of the kids if that is what you prefer. You can also achieve wonderful pictures by using a slower shutter speed and panning with the kids while the run and blurring the background. It just depends what want to accomplish. Hope this helps a little.
