What should my shutter speed be on my camera to take photos of waves, also what film should I use?

If you want the silky look, try shutter speed of 1/8 of a second or even slower, even a few seconds. Depending on how much light available, you may have to use the smallest aperture (largest f number) or even put on a polarizer or neutral density filter to achieve that speed. The slower speed film is better in this case. Make sure you use a tripod and a shutter release. Hope this helps.
