Photography Question

Amanda J. Hubbard

How to paint your own backdrop

I have some cream colored muslin. I would like to paint it and I was wondering what type of paint do you use? Does spray paint work too? Any other helpful hints are welcomed on this topic.

There is an article in popular photography and imaging that you can look up at the website popphoto.com. I think you can look it up at the website. If not email me and I can look it up at home for you. I just remember reading it in the last issue or two. I talked about using water mixed with paint lightly stroking and stuff. I hope I have helped. If I can be of more help just email me. I don't always get a chance to check it but I will get back to you as soon as I can. Elissa

I have painted a couple of my own canvas's. The first time, I used the special arilic paints. It took *forever and was VERY expensive. The 2nd time I went to Home Depot, went to the paints in the clearance bin and bought a couple of small specialty paints to add here and there. It was fast, cheap and turned out nicer then the first one. The second one was just shades of ivory with some pearlasent (sp?) shades of gold and taupe added. I use it for bridal shots.
