Card readers Whats the quickest and easiest way to upload pictures to your computer from a memory card. I have been plugging the camera into my computer and going from there. I have heard people use the term card readers, but have never asked anyone questions. Thanks. DC

Hello All, My advice on this matter: use an external USB 2.0 card reader. you can hook it into almost any computer there days - regardless of whether they are USB 2.0 or not. Depending upon the age of your camera and the size of the files being downloaded - this may also be a faster option. It also saves battery - you do not need to have your camera turned on. If in the middle of downloading your photos - something happens that you need your camera for - it is ready to use (if you have another memory card) - if it is connected to your computer - it is not available to use. A card reader is available from computer shops, camera shops etc. Where I live they are not much more expensive then a set of 4 rechargeable Ni-MH AA batteries. Depending upon the time it takes to download your photos from your camera to your computer should be the determining factor in your decision. eg with my S1 Pro - and a full 1GB memory card - it could take up to 30mins to download the photos to the computer with the camera turned on. with USB 2.0 card reader and the same card - it is about 5 mins.
