Photography Question

GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program)

Can anyone tell me if they've used GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program).
It is supposed to be a free version that can do what Photoshop does... Any advice would be appreciated! :-) (PS It is available at www.gimp.org)

  Hello All,
GIMP was originally designed for Unix/Linux operating systems. So that they could manipulate images too.
I believe that is it still free.
I have not personally used it - but I have been told that it does most of the things that you need to do with image editing.
You are only limited by the time it takes to download the software and install it - to see if it is suitable for your needs. You will probably find pages of info on the subject if you do a search on gimp for windows (presuming that is your operating system) on www.google.com

Thanks Davin. It didn't take long to download and there are many links to help manuals etc... Thanks for the feedback!
