HOw to store used film for long periods of time?

I will be going to Japan for 2 months. I will be shooting both 35mm and 120 film. I am going to get the film developed when I return to the States.
How should I store my used film in the meantime until I get home?
Is the fridge okay?

yes it's best to store cold. Storing in a freezer it's supposed to keep for a very long time. Make sure it's a frost free refrigerator. And take it out a few hours before you shoot it or take it to get developed is what I've heard. To allow it to get to room temp.

If you're traveling it may be difficult to always keep your film safe. Are you going to be in the cities? Find a pro shop there if you can and develop there. I don't remember how strict the airports are there, but all those x-rays are not good at all, and the bigger the film the worse. I had that problem with 120 and 4x5 when I went to England.

Check out Kodak's pro website and search under "airport x-ray." There's an excellent article there that shows what can happen. Also, remember, America's on all these alerts, and they x-ray a lot of the mail now, especially from overseas.
