Photography Question

Jeff

Why use a show shutter speed?

I can undersatnd why you would use a slower shutter to show a feeling of movement like in like people playing sport or something but what other reasons and situations would you use a slower shutter speed?

Is it better qaulity or something if not why would you not use a fast shutter speed everytime unless you were trying to symbolize movement?

Getting the exposure right is a combination of shutter speed and aperture (the amount of light through the lens). Because aperture choice affects the Depth of Field (the range of near and far objects in apparent focus), that is sometimes the first consideration. If you want a small aperture (high f-number), then you must use a slower shutter speed than you would if you selected a wide aperture.

could also use one just because there isn't much light, or to get flash to blend in with ambient light.
