Camera Feature - Mid-Roll Rewind Many of the new SLR's include a "mid-roll rewind" feature. What are the uses and benefits of using this feature?

This feature is great for photographers that like to shoot with various films, i.e. color slide film and black and white negative film. It allows you to rewind film before it is finished. Ideally, it stops rewinding just before the last few inches of the film is rewound into the cartridge. You can then pop in your other roll of film, shoot for a while, rewind again, and put the first roll back in when you are ready. You then place the cap on the lens, manually set your exposure to something like 1/1000, f. 22 (so no light will reach your already exposed frames), and fire off the same number of shots you had used before. You are then ready to finish off the rest of the roll. It's complicated but, for most people, it's better than buying a second camera.
