Rocky Mountain School of Photography

I received a catalog in the mail for the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. One program that caught my eye is the 11-week summer intensive program. The program prepares students for a career in photography. Students learn everything from basic photography, photoshop, and the business of photography. Has anyone attended this program or heard anything about this program? The school claims some students now work full-time in photography (studio, commercial, freelance, etc.). This is my ultimate goal. Any feedback from past attendees would be very helpful. Thanks to all.

Jennifer A. Hayward   Marisol,

I have wanted to attend RMSP's SI for many years, ever since I decided that I wanted to become a professional photographer. Since I'm now in a job where I can take a few months off, I recently registered for the 2004 SI. The school, before I registered, provided me with a list of former students who were willing to share their SI experience. I contacted five students and they all encouraged me to attend the SI program and they all told me it was a "life changing experience." All five students are now working as professionals: a couple as assistansts, two as free-lance and one has recently opened his own studio. I also asked a trusted, local professional photographer about the school and he said he had heard of it and said it was recommended. Since registering with RMSP, I have had some phone and snail-mail contact with the school's staff and I find them to be encouraging, friendly and extremely helpful. I would encourage you to call the school and ask them any questions you have about the program. I am sure they would be happy to speak with you. I hope this helps. Good luck,
