Carribean Tips for a new 35mmSLR owner

Heading to the Carribean this winter with my new Minolta Maxxum 4. I bought a circular polarizer. Just wondering on tips with shooting ocean, over-all general film speed to bring for beach shots and evening shots...

100 speed film is fine for outdoors, but I notice that it's disappearing from stores. If that's true in your area, 200 should be fine.
Take your beach shots in the morning or evening. If you're too much in harsh midday light, your pictures will show it. By all means try the polarizer. It may make some skies look fake.
