Developing

I am a neophyte photographer, and have
decided to do mainly black and white.
As I don't have my own developing
equipment, was wondering what process
I should ask for when submitting my
film for developing.
That is, should the prints, perhaps
4" x 6" be done in a glossy, or
flat finish or ?
Rather than taking the film to the
corner drug store or camera shop, are
there on line developing companies
you could suggest.
Thank you,
Stu Nichols

I believe there are many "on-line" places where you can have film processed.

I request processing and proof sheets. This is the cheapest way to see your stuff without paying for all the costs of printing many prints.

I know one company who is very good with black and white. They are in Los Angeles, CA. They are called A&I. I think you will find them at http://www.aandi.com But, just do a search on A&I and you'll find them.

They have a mail-in program.

Cheers and happy shooting,
Jerry
