Canon digital rebel and 10D I have been considering adding a good digital slr to my camera family for a couple of years now. I've just been waiting on the quality to get up and prices to come down. Now with the canon digital rebel and 10D that has been accomplished. For the most part I can not find any major differences between the two other than the material they r made from and a pc connection. What am I missing? Is the 10D worth the extra $500? and will either of these cameras work with my sigma 28-300 APO?( I have heard they will not).

There is the same level of difference between the Digital Rebel and the 10D as there is between the Rebel 2000 and the Elan 7e or EOS 3. Whether the added feature set and greater flexibility of the 10D is worth the extra cost, only you can decide. The Sigma 28-300 in Canon EF mount should work on both. If it doesn't, it's Sigma's problem and if you return it to them they'll re-chip it. Per http://www.sigma-photo.com/Html/faqs.htm "All current production Sigma lenses for Canon autofocus cameras are fully compatible with the new Elan 7, Rebel Ti or EOS 10D camera. This includes all HSM type lenses. Some earlier production non-HSM lenses may require modification in order to perform normally with the new camera.
