Hi Robert: Congratulations on your decision to "get deeper into photography"!!

Since you already have a camera, then that would be the best starting point. In fact, one of the best ways to determine exactly what additional equipment you might need is to learn - reeeeeeally learn - about the camera gear you already have. This avoids rushing out and buying new equipment that you will soon outgrow ... or buying equipment that simply won't meet your future needs.

Here are a few thoughts for getting your photo education in gear:

- A class is a great idea! Besides a "brick-and-mortar" classroom setting, though, you might also want to take a look at BetterPhoto's lineup of online courses - i.e., Beginning Photography.

- Read absolutely EVERYTHING you can about photography! That means books, magazines, etc. However, an excellent resource is right here at BetterPhoto. There's a wealth of information on the basics of both film and digital photography. Specifically, there are articles and discussions covering creative issues, shooting techniques, technical concerns AND equipment matters.

Good luck, Robert!
Kerry
