I need to buy a new scanner Could some one give me some information on what type of scanner to buy. I do a lot of slides photo work and some prints and scanner paper work. Should I go with a good film scanner and also buy a flat scanner? thank you Rita Littfin

Hi Rita. Buying a scanner is like buying a camera, or a lens. There are multiple levels of quality and performance governed by your particular needs, and how much you are willing to spend. For slides, prints, and documents,... Microtek markets a line of flat-bed scanners which will probably serve all of your needs. Choose one with a high resolution (@4000 dpi), if you require high quality scans. For film and slides, Nikon's Coolscan 4000 produces superior results, but is limited to scanning negative film strips and transparencies. Hope this helps. Bob
