How to get Sharp Images Some of my attached photos give a good example of the blurred masterpieces I manage to create, including further ones in my gallery. This is really frustrating me. I am still trying to understand the technicality of DOF's and other stuff. I often use my Pentax MZ50 on Manual / Aperture setting so I can hopefully get control of my DOF's, etc... I have less trouble with this when using my digital camera: Olympus C5050. Any tips on how to create sharp and precise images would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Nicole McGrade

Well, first off, Nicole, is the film sharp? If so, then you just need to learn how to sharpen for web display. If the original is not sharp, then it could be a lot of different things. But, first, is your film sharp. You'll definitely need a good loupe to determine this. Or, just turn one of your lenses backwards for high magnification, and look on a light box, or if not light box, up towards a window.

Hi Tony, firstly, thank you very much to taking the time to help. Secondly, sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I took your advice and took my camera in to check the lenses. The people at the shop were great, didn't charge a cent and then we worked out that it was my own error: It pays to know how to use the equipment!!! :) Because when I bought the camera, it came with 2 Sigma lenses which have manual Ap settings on it, as well as Ap settings on the Pentax MZ50 body. I was using the manual settings on the lens rather than the body - therefore, of course lots of disappointments. All my DOF's were out. OK, now I really look forward to seeing what I can do with my camera!!! :) Thanks so much again and cheers from Down Under. Nicole.
