Magazine work I have tried to get freelance and/or full-time work with magazines (such as Coastal Living, Southern Living, etc) and have had no luck. What is the best way to approach this? I have a website where they can view my work and I send them some 8x10s with my query letter. Any suggestions?

Christy: Propose and article with pictures. Don't just send pictures. The pictures have to be related to an article. Call and get to know the editor. Be persistent, but don't be a pain.
