Photography Question

Converters for a maxxum lens.

I am using a Minolta AF 4.5, 400mm (maxxum)lens with a Minolta XTsi body.I only use this combination in manual focus. I'd like to get a wee bit closer to wildlife by increasing my lens to 500mm. Is there a converter that'll match and work with this combination(AF or Manual mode)? Was told maybe a sigma or kenko teleconverter might work.I'm not too sure and neither was the person giving the advise! Help and thanx.

It's a good idea to get the same brand teleconverter as your camera system, but Sigma teleconverters have served me well. Get the 1.4x rather than the 2x. With a 4.5 lens, the 2x will NOT be sharp.

Good luck,

I've tried the Minolta TC (White body) but it won't bond with my camera or lens, I can't remember which.I thought about trying the sigma 1.4...Thanx, Tony for your help.
