Creating a Contractual Agreement

My first photography proposal was just accepted by a local business. I know I must create/submit a contract outlining details of "usage rights", delivery, shooting dates, payment, etc. What else should be included in this type of contract? Do I take the completed contract to my first meeting or should I meet first, get details/negotiate, then submit a contract later? As my first "professional assignment" I want to make sure I get the logistics right!

First, find out EXACTLY what they expect of you and what their budget is for the project.
When do they want it completed? How do they want the work delivered? Make sure that you retain copyright of the images. And if you want to do more of this, I would strongly suggest joining the ASMP (http://asmp.org). You may have a local chapter where you are.

Good luck!
