Photography Question

Gretchen D. Solomon

How to find a professional lab?

I am just in the beginning stages of photography. I have been taking portraits of friends and family for a couple of years, but it is slowly beginning to turn into something. I just got a Cannon Eos10 D digital camera and with every professional lab I contact they want you to be a major business (wanting photography to be my major source of income.) and do not even look at beginners. How can I find a lab to print my pictures that has professional quality?

All the labs say that. They told me that when I was first starting out. They said I had to do $XXXX amount a year and I said "no problem". Of course I never did do $xxxx amount a year but I continued to use the lab. They didn't drop me or send Guido to pay me a visit. Pick one you like and start using them. If you don't meet their expectations what's the worst that could happen? They tell you not to use them any more? As long as you pay them they probably won't squawk. They just tell people that to discourage amateurs.
