What to charge for photos sold to a magazine?? Hi, I recently sent a series of photos to a magazine, Coastal Living, for consideration to use in their magazines etc. They responded back indicating they are interested in one of the photos I sent and they are asking for my fee. I have never sold an image before and since I don't have a set is there a standard fee typically used? Does it vary based on magazine circuilation or the size of image they use? My primary goal is to have them use my work as it will pay off more in the future as I try to spend more time doing this and maybe someday making a living doing this. Any ideas or suggestions on what number to give them? Would it be wise to respond and ask for the "standard" fee for an image?? thanks Any diretion would be great.
