How should I shoot stainless steel machinery?

I am a young photographer trying to break into the business, and have an opportunity to shoot some stainless steel machinery for a local manufacturing firm. I know the reflections are tricky, and have been told to use a white backdrop with red, green, and blue lighting to minimize reflections, but I need some exact techniques to use. I pretty much have one chance to get this right, so whatever help anyone could provide would be wonderful. Tbanks for any info, and if anyone is looking for photo help near southwest Florida, I could use the work, and the learning experience.

  hi Joel
you seem to have te same type of style that I have. I am not about to give away my secrets why my pics come out cool.... but I can tell you this.steel can be very dirty looking. sometimes you cant tell if it is just by using your common eye....but you can bring it out in the way it is processed.i think by using a grainy type of film it adds to the element of steel. dirty/clean.

Check out the following book. It has the information you are looking for:

Still Life and Special Effects Photography by Roger Hicks and Frances Schultz

This book has amazing photography along the lines you are speaking of by professional photographers who have no problem "giving away secrets that make [their] pics come out cool"

Hope this helps.
