Photography Question

Sarah D. Hickox

Best Quality Online Print Source?

I was wondering, where do all of you get online prints made? Best color, quality, clarity, etc.

I used ezphoto.com and it was great for outdoor shots! But recently I took some indoor shots with my halogen bulbs -they look great on my computer - but the prints came in all red-toned.

I've also tried snapfish.com which was ok, but the photos all had a slight greenish tinge.

Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for the same thing.
Who makes the best prints for the least cost?
I found that your monitor has a lot to do with the results you get. Your monitor and what you see isn't the same as what their printing equiptment sees. I found that with wal-mart printing. Their printing equip (fuji frontier) tries to make auto adj. and I have to ask them to turn that off.
Has anyone used myphotopipe.com and what can you tell me about it?

Thanks All
Wayne

I used to use snapfish and shutterfly and still use them now for my everyday family photos, but only if the quality isnt too important! But if I want a good quality, professional pictures, I use MPIX. I love MPIX because the photos look great, they arrive quickly, and are packaged really nicely. I have also heard great things about White House Custom Colour but I havent tried them yet. I also heard of proLab express & myphotopipe, but I never tried them either.

MPix is AWESOME!!! I can't say enough good things about them . . . their color management is superb and only one time was the color "off" and it was my error. . . their prices are great too and their 8 x 10 are cheaper than snapfish, ofoto and shutterfly and even Walmart I think. . . I used snapfish and walmart for every day things but quite honestly if I have an order going in it's cheaper in the end to just upload them to MPix and include them there. Their 4 x 6 reprints are .10 higher than most other places but the shipping is a flat $4.95 for USPS and the last time I ordered from snapfish my shipping was $3.75 for 54 4 x 6 prints. . . and a friend had almost 400 prints from snapfish and her shipping was like $30 bucks. . . so you can't beat MPix in my opinion . . . their choices are great in a variety of sizes and different things. My last order with MPix I uploaded on Tuesday night, ordered Wednesday by noon and with their Fed Ex shipping(which is higher) I had my order by Thursday and was able to offer my customer a 48 hour turnaround . . . even with the USPS shipping I usually always have my orders in 2-3 days from when I order . . . if you get your orders in before 11:00 a.m. sometimes they will ship that same day . . . I'm in teh same state as they are so that probably saves a day in shipping but even further away I've heard it's still just 3 days. I haven't personally ordered any of my prints on canvas but a friend did and reports pleasing results. . . give them a try I promise you won't be disappointed!

Just a note...Mpix is limited in their payment policy. I was just there and they accept only Visa and Mastercard. I know Shutterfly accepts many types of payment (including check/money order). I have seen some of their work and it is much better than walmart.

But honestly, if quality is what you're going for, I wouldn't choose shutterfly or snapfish. They do a good job, dont get me wrong, but they are not "the best". (and no offense to anyone but most places are better then walmart IMO!!) All Im saying is if you want high quality and professional results, go to mpix or any of the other printing places mentioned. I have found them to be very affordable. One thing I LOVE about mpix is that they perferate the wallets for you. I got mine with rounded corners and they looked SO professional. I didnt know they only took visa or mastercard since I have a visa so I dont pay any attention. Most places online do only take credit cards so I dont notice. But if thats a problem for you, Im sure you can find some place that will work for you. Good luck!!

Thanks very much! This is actually a really old post of mine... I discovered mpix last year and have been really satisfied with the results. :)

I also like the die cut wallets. .. it's taking me some getting used to though when adding my logo .. . I thought I was allowing the 3/8" it said but it was still cutting it off ... and it was also so small you couldn't read it. . . so now I just upload a 5 x 7 size of the wallet they want with the font size where I know it will work and make sure I am 1/2 in and 1/2 in up and so far that has worked great! I always use my credit card too so I didn't think about the payment end of things .. .their parent company Miller's Professional Imaging has a different payment policy I believe. . . I am set up through them also but their ordering software is really bizarre to me ... Mpix is so much easier! However. .. Millers has tons more options especially when it comes to the sports stuff.
