Film speed on safari

I will be going to Southern Africa in October. I plan on taking 2 different lenses on 2 bodies - 28 - 120 and 70 - 300. I prefer using Fuji film when possible. What film speed do you recommend?

Thanks.

Edna

This really depends on what you will be photographing. Generally, I use the following "formula" for what film I take with me, but I rarely shoot under very low light conditions:

60% ISO 100 (Astia and Provia 100)
20% ISO 50 (Velvia, though this may change with the arrival of Velvia 100)
5% ISO 400
5% ISO 800

I don't shoot faster than 800 except for very specific and planned reasons and in those cases, I plan for that film

Hope this random thinking helps. But, really, it comes down to what you plan to photograph and the conditions in which you photograph.
