filter system: threaded or drop-in? I'm trying to decide between threaded (screw-on) filters and a drop-in system like the Cokin-A or P, and I'm interested in knowing what folks out there think are the benefits and challenges that come with each. I'm working with a 35mm SLR (a Canon EOS Elan 7). Both of my lenses have 58 mm threads; one is a 22-55mm lens and the other is 75-300mm. Will I get vignetting if I use regular threaded (screw-on) filters on my 22-55 mm lens (not multiple filters at once, just one at a time)? (I know I can always get a second set of filters, made especially for wide-angle lenses, but don't want to spend the extra $$ if I can avoid it without compromising the quality of my photos.) If I do go with the drop-in filters, will the Cokin-A system meet my needs, or will vignetting be an issue with my 22-55mm lens? If vignetting will be a problem with the A system, will the Cokin-P be a better choice? Is the photo quality difference between a threaded glass filter and an optical resin drop-in filter like a Cokin-A or P noticeable? Thanks in advance for your help. I want to make this investment with some sound advice behind it.
