Are Your Images Being Used Without Your Knowing? If you have any images posted online, you may want to know that there are sites out there that search the Web, grabbing images for others to use for free. One claims innocence by saying that they are merely indexing the Web and referring image-seekers to the original source. Since most people will take and use an image without looking twice to see who it belongs to, this is most likely exploiting photographers by giving away their images without them even knowing about it. I agree that it's a catch 22 when post my images on the internet - that why I digimarc them and I post a copyright on each photo itself. Also I send a monthly portfolio to be copyrighted in the copyright office. Then again there are people out there that will use your photo anyway, that's why I'm careful (at least I have tried to prevent theft of my work).
