wedding photography lighting

I am getting into the wedding photography business. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a lighting setup.. Do I need just something like a metz 45ct or do I need an umbrella setup? Thanks

Hi Kaitlyn, I wouldn't say I was a wedding photographer but I have done my fair share. I have been shooting as a press photographer for the last 20 years. I tend to approach my weddings just like an editorial assignment, I beleive in keeping it simple with my lighting, because you will find out on most occasions you will not have time to setup an umbrella. I have been using reflectors instead, easy to foldup and carry. You can bounce the flash into one with the help of a sync leed and an assistant. But don't let me stop you from using an umbrella, there might be the occasion at a wedding where you might have enough time on your hands to set one up. All the best, Tony.
