DSLR Batteries Can you charge your digital SLR batteries before they completely dead? Will charging them before they are dead decrease their strength? Specifically - Nikon EN-EL3 batteries for the D100. Thanks.

Boy I wish I could answer this for you, I know you can charge them before they die, but I don't know if its good for them. I can't find any info that came with the batteries to answer that question, but an extra set is not that expensive. I have two sets, when one dies I change it and charge the other, that way you always have a full charge availible.

Judith, thanks for trying. I found the answer by doing a search on battery memory. Seems only the nickel cadmium batteries have the memory loss going on. Lithium batteries do not suffer from this phenomenon, thank goodness. I'm now searching for a car charger adapter for my vacation this summer - Costa Rica, baby! Yee ha!!!!!!
