Photography Question

motion photography at night

we were in panama city beach, florida on the gulf of mexico and during one night the waves were"lighting up"(a beautiful aqua/turquiose color) as they crashed, or if you kicked up the water...it was a phosphorescent organism that was creating this cool effect...but I could not figure out how to photograph it...my point and shoot(with a flash) did not capture the lit up colors and wouldn't using a tripod with no flash be just a blur? how could you capture such a cool phenomenon? thanks carrie ryan

Hi Carrie, I don't know how to photograph it either but I have seen it in Mexico. Walking down the beach it would light up our footprints in the sand with neon colors. Also seen it in the water as a boat's propellors churned up the water..this time it was white. I will never forget either experiences in my life as it was so awesome.
