use of polarizer filter While using circular polarizer & rotating it for a maximum effect the pictures come out with dark shadows on face??

Polarizers are not for portrait shots. The filter will also works where light reflection is strong, usually sunlight. If there are shadows on the face, it is not the filter's fault. Take it off.

also, flash is not comaptible. Just guessing here since you gave so little details.

These are shots of my son on Miami beach in the sand. The shots were taken at around 11 A.M. with the sun out. Though the colors of the sky & beach chairs & umbrellas have come out great, there seems to be a dark cast / shadow covering his forehead & eyes. I had rotated the polarizer for maximum effect. This is the first time I have used the polarizer by rotating it for maximum effect. I do not have an access to a scanner, otherwise I would have uploaded the photograph.
