This is obviously a school question. I hesitate to undercut a teacher's planned learning process by completely answering this long and complex question. For digital look at Hewlett Packard's photosmart.com. They have an excellent discussion of digital. Film is an acetate base coated with a light-sensitive chemical compound. We have to subject the film to more chemical changes (development) to bring out the image. See the Time-Life photo series book "Light and Film". Libraries usually have it. Don't expect other people to do your research for you. Use a search engine and/or a library, and all other school work involving research will be a lot easier.

The previous answer from Doug N is correct - you really need to do some research as it is not a simple answer. Anyway the way I see it is I prefer film based photography personally. I have had 2 digital cameras and I found that the printed pictures from digital were not up to the quality of film prints. As far as which is easier to use that too is a personal opinion. With film you decide which film to use, load the film and take them in to be developed when done. Digital means you must connect to a computer and download the pictures. When that is done you may need to use a program such as Photoshop to touch them up if you don't like what you see. To get a print from digital you need a good quality printer and photo quality paper should be used and it isn't cheap.....Both types of cameras have settings you must decide where to set when shooting so I won't get into that. If you want a deeper explanation you could email me at dvann@golden.net
