Off camera shoe cords?

I am finding that the Canon off camera shoe cord I have for my flash is drastically limiting me in how far I can move away from the camera. I THOUGHT I read somewhere that more than one shoe cord can be hooked together for further movement. Did I dream this or can it be done? Thanks, DC

I assume you have the Off-Camera Shoe Cord 2, which is a coiled cord ~2 ft. long. What you need is the TTL Hot Adaptor 3 to mount on the camera's hotshoe, the Connecting Cord 300 (3 m/9.8 ft. straight cable), and Off-Camera Shoe Adapter OA-2 that the flash sits on and the cable connects to.

If you have an EX series speedlite you can have wireless TTL control using the Transmitter ST-E2.
