Fireworks and a throw away camera

Is it alright to use a throw away camera for shooting pictures such as fire works or sunsets?

I think it's legal in most states and in Canada. Kidding. Fireworks photos generally require a longer exposure time, something you cannot control with a throwaway. The results will be generally disappointing. The sunset is a crap shoot. You may have half a chance, depending on how dark it is when you shoot. If the sun is nearly down you are in trouble.
