Photography Question

Stick with Pentax.......or not?

Hello. I first want to say how much I love this site. I have learned so much here, I can sit and read the Q&A or view all of the galleries for hours! So thank you so much Jim and staff!

OK, a few months ago I had a lengthy question regarding my equipment. I am hoping to get to the next level of my passion and try to start a career as a portrait photographer.

I own a Pentax ZX-50 and a Pentax ZX-5N. My question.."Why do I feel ashamed to say that?". I geuss because everyone on this site seems to have either a Canon or Nikon. Am I fooling myself with my Pentax? You see I need to make a decison fast, I would like to start looking at a portrait lens..the one I would buy for my Pentax would be the Pentax 85mm 1.4. It is an expensive lens, approx $750 at B&H or used at Keh for $570. I have heard amazing things about this lens. I would hate to decide next year that my camera is too amature and realize that I invested in the Pentax when I should have bout a canon or nikon from the start. I allready own a Tamron 28-200 1:3.8 and a Phoenix macro 100mm. I also have the Pentax AF220T flash which I also need to upgrade...again do I invest in pentax or sell my equip and move onto canon or nikon?

If anyone has any suggestions for another camera thet they think is best for pro portraiture please lend me your advise!

Thank you!

PS: here is a photo of mine that I love...taken with the ZX-50
