Scaning Slides on a Flatbed Scanner

I'v been shooting slide film for a while (i'm an amateur), and i'm looking for a combo: Flatbed & Slide scanner, to put that photos on the Web, wich is the minimum resolution that I must look for in the scanner to get some decent digital images?, Is 1220 (optical) good enough?

Look at the HP's - I know they have a model that combines slide with flatbed (the slide unit is built into the lid) in the dpi range you're look for...

At least one regular on this site swears by the Epson 2450. In my opinion, the 2400 Epson claims is about right for 35-mm.
Pacific Imaging sells an inexpensive film scanner that scans at 1800 (a bare minimum) that has gotten at least one decent review (check out back issues of Shutterbug magazine).
