as above on a trip to goa there was a fantastic shot of fishing boat on the sand framed by the woods and a great sunset. however when downloaded there was no sun or bright orange streaks in sky. how can I add this detail in photoshop please.the sky came out white.sorry lost photos

Don't throw it out. What you're looking for MIGHT be in there. In the future, save a copy of the original shot before you did anything to it as insurance. Go to Levels under Image/Adjust and bring the outer sliders in so that they just touch the sides of the graph that show data. See scantips.com for some more detail on this if you need it. This great shot should have been shot in a TIF or raw format at the HIGHEST resolution or quality (whatever your camera maker calls it).
