Minolta Maxxum 7000 underexposed

My 7000 has been in the closet for 3 plus years and now I want to use it. The pictures with ASA 200 film appear underexposed and muddy. I even tried some shots with several different flash units but no difference. The lithium battery seems to be OK and I cleaned the lens contacts.

I thought about setting the film speed to ASA 125 to see what would happen.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated by an old man.

  Bob,
I purchased a used 7000 a couple of years ago. After a few months use I too had trouble with underexposures. My AF lenses had underexposures, but my manual lenses were OK. I took it to "Camtronics" in Columbus Ohio. They repaired the AF 'magnet', I beleive that is what they called it. Now the exposure is perfect. They offer a mail in and ship out service, along with an email quote.
Good Luck Linda
