opening raw images Ok, I have a DiMAGE 7i. I down loaded from IBM microdrive to a CD. I deleted the thumbnails before downloading. How can I open the images with my DiMAGE software program without the thumbnails?

Try going to the file menu (at the top of the software screen) and choose open from there. Then you will get an open dialog box, from the "LookIn" dropdown list you will choose your CD-ROM drive, if you places them in a folder, you will have to open the folder. Then select the name of the image(s) you would like to open and click the open button. Deb

Deb, Thank you for responding to my question. There are no thumbnail images on the CD. The Minolta program will not read any full size raw files without the thumbnail. A lesson learned. Regards, Leehman

Leehman, Another program should open the images. Something like Photoshop Elements, PhotoDeluxe or Arcsoft PhotoStudio will open the raw image format. Again, in the open dialog box, you may need to change the "Files of type" drop down (at the bottom of the box) to all file types to see them. PhotoStudio has a free download if you want to try that. Deb, Thanks for being so generous with your knowledge. I thought that another program should open them also. I have photoshop 6. I even have a nikon program from my other camera. It seems that you cannot access these files except with a Minolta program. The camera is a Minolta. I wrote to Minolta but no response. My wife has her own PC she let me try with her photo and other programs, but no luck. I will try your idea with the Photostudio download Regards, Leehman
