Model Releases

I spent some time at a local historical site this past summer. In addition to a theatrical performance, there were also street performances (skits). When inside the theatre, people were asked to not take photos until after the show, at which time the group would pose for photos. The street performers were allowing photos to be taken throughout the day. So, if I wanted to post one of these photos in the contest, or sell it one day, would I require a model release form? If yes, what is the best way to obtain a model release when there are lots of people surrounding the actors?

Thanks,

Cathy :)

Yes, you need model releases for commercial use of the photos. Check out: http://www.dpcorner.com/all_about/releases.shtml

and information about model releases:
