The contest emails from BP about Jackpot! What exactly does the "Jackpot!" email mean?

It means that your photo got at least one vote from judges. It doesn't necessarily mean that your photo will be selected to be among winners. :-)

Not really Cary. I have instances of Jackpot emails becoming a Gold winner as well as remaining Silver. So it can go both ways! Usman.

Thanks for the reply Usman. This last month, I got 5 Finalists, then 2 Jackpot emails, and then one 2nd Place; so, I assume one of the Jackpot photos became the Gold.

Cary, do you remember awhile back, when one of the BP judges commented on your photo during the contest phase? You'd get the e-mail that said "A BetterPhoto Judge has commented on your Photo." I think the Jackpot is the same concept; one of the judges commented on your photo. Doesn't necessarily equate to a gold medal. But it doesn't hurt either. :-)

Thanks Ken. I do remember several years back, when I was still very active at BP, that some entries would get a comment by "The Staff" or "Judges" or something like that, and I THINK the avatar was some cows? I hadn't seen any of those since last March, when I started entering again. I thought I had read on a thread a few months back, that Jim M. had said something about the "Jackpot notification" meaning that at least one judge voted for that particular photo; but, I can't find the thread.

Now I remember; after seeing it. Thanks, Ken. My brain must be getting fuddled in my old age: At least I got the "cow" part right. ;-) Lots of changes in the years since I was active.
