Could it be Wal Mart's printing?

I recently took several black and white photos while traveling in Japan. I was using Kodak TMAX 100. I just got them processed and I noticed that many of them are either blurred, grainy or lacking in contrast. I had the processing done at Wal Mart because I had so many and I could not afford anywhere else. The photos that I had processed while in Japan came out fine using the same camera and film. Could it be Wal Mart's printing (I could not tell be looking at the negative.)or could they possibly have been damaged while bringing them through the X-ray at the air port?(Remember, I used a slow film that should not be affected by the X-ray.)Strange but all of the colors using Kodak 100 came out fine. Does anyone know what the problem could be?
