Help in shooting a musical play

Hi Everyone,

This is my first assignment to shoot a musical play in a big auditorium. Since I have no prior experience in such kind of work I would like some pointers/help in getting the job well done.

I like to shoot slide films over negatives. I have not been given any specification on what their requirements are except that they would like me to take some shoots during the play (ofcourse whitout a flash) and some backstage shots after the play. I am planning to use Fuji Provia 400F Professional (RHPIII) and push it to 1600.

I have the following gear for my shoot:
1> Canon Elan7
2> Canon 28-135mm F/3.5-4.5 IS USM
3> Tamron 70-300mm F/4.5
4> Tamron 1.4x Teleconvertor

Any help is welcome. I forgot to mention this play has lot of dances which means there is a lot of action.
Thanks
Uday
