I use the Fuji FinePix 2400Z-oom as a point and shoot option, for internet photography not requiring prestidigitation and to compliment my other two digicams. I find it does the job very nicely under most normal conditions. It also features a night scene (slow synchro)flash mode which allows you to use the flash with a slow shutter speed. Results can be spotty with so few manual options available. Only flash mode, white balance and exposure compensation can be manipulated. I assume your platform is similiar.

Here is an example of the technique I shot with a Sony DSC-S75 3.3MP digicam while camping at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Colorado last week. I was attempting to photograph the moon rising over the mountains, was unsatisfied with the results, even with the cameras manual controls, so I used the tripod and timer to shoot a self portrait in front of the tent. A 2 second shutter speed, F7, exposure compensation and forced flash yielded this result.
