Before we can give you any advice we need to know what you plan to be shooting in this studio. Portraits? Groups or just individuals? Still lifes? How large (table tops or automobiles)? How much space do you have? Can you set it up permanently or will it have to be broken down between uses?

I am going to do portraits of individuals and family. No large groups. My building is 30 x 15 ft. All open. I can set it up permanently. I live out in the country, and I am a stay at home mom... so I know that I won't get rich off of being a photographer, or at least not at first. But it is something that I have always wanted to do. Again, any information would be greatly appreciated.

I'll tell you what I have. I use a 35mm and a MF camera. I have 3 monolights, a few different sized umbrellas, a soft box, and a couple of backgrounds hanging on a track system. That's basically it. I rarely use all 3 lights and many times just one. The backgrounds I made myself from muslin. I have them hanging on a track that is designed to hold hospital exam curtains. Beyond that, you can add props, posing stools, posing tables, various other background materials (I have a buddy how has a sheet of corrugated aluminum that is very popular), and anything else your imagination can conjure.

How's that? If you need any more info or have any specific questions feel free to email me at imagesbyk@aol.com.
