Trouble uploading Is anyone else having trouble uploading photos right now? I've been trying to upload one for about half an hour and it keeps timing out. The photo is not too large, and I've rebooted my computer ... Is BP not able to accept photos right now for some reason? Any insight is welcome! Thanks Peggy

Jim said he would be traveling but hopes to fix the problem when he returns. In the meantime we can re-enter photos that have already been entered previously. I entered one and it seemed to work and someone actually commented but now It isn't in my portfolio...hmmmm.... Oh well, I am sure it will all be worked out soon.

Just so you don't think you are the only one with a problem, at this time, 9:36am on Jan 3, 167 photos have been entered into this month's contest. NONE of them have been uploaded to BP after midnight on 12/31. Obviously. EVERYONE has the problem. I have not had any problems so far entering previously uploaded photos into the contest. Jim knows about the problem and will undoubtably address it when he returns.

Oh, just so you have the math on my previous comment. BP members have been averaging between 200-300 contest entries a day. So about 400 entries didn't happen because people couldn't upload.

Thanks for letting us know that uploading is a system wide problem and not just my computer. I haven't uploaded a new photo since May; so I find it a little ironic that when I finally decide to upload a new picture BP is having trouble. ;-).

From what I remember in the past, if you repost a previously entered image it will not show up in an updated spot in your gallery, it will still be posted where it was originally. It is supposed to show up in the recently posted area for contest entries...I did try it and could not find my image though...Guess I will just wait for Jim to fix it...

Jill, when you resubmit a photo, it shows up on the "Recent Contest Entries" page based on the date you originally added it to BP. http://www.betterphoto.com/gallery/dynoGall2.php?catID=560 I resubmitted a couple of photos and found them on the back pages of the contest pages. It's easier to find them when you search for the Category, versus wading through all the entries. Be sure to go to the URL above, then click "More Categories" top right, and navigate to the category that you posted the resubmitted photo into. If you can't find it, let me know the title and the Category, then I'll take a look later. When BP does their EP round, they look at them based on the date you submitted it to the current contest. It's just that we don't see those pages. We can only check the Recent Entries page to confirm the photo got into the contest.
