What is Catch All category? I tried looking for description on the catch all category in the photo contest. I am confused. Some pictures in the category can be fall either into landscape, or macro, or everything else. Thanks in advance.

Catch-All includes everything and anything a camera captures, or even something entirely created in editing softwares. Still life's usually also go in CA. UB.

It's sort of for anything that doesn't quite fit anywhere else, and is used sometimes when you want to not put two similar things in the same category. I used to use it for car shots a lot, but don't do as many of those as I used to. You can really put just about anything in this category.

Hi Betty; I view "Catch All" as BP's intended category for any images you enter which don't "clearly fit" into the other defined categories. I end up with a lot of architecture shots in there, whenever my entry doesn't seem to feel like a good match for either "Travel & Place" or "Elements of Design"... (Those are the two main categories I find usually cover most of my other architectural images.) But there's no stopping you putting a true, ideal landscape image into "Catch-All", instead of into "Landscape & Nature"... I'd just caution that, in theory, your category choice is something the contest judges pay attention to, in addition to the image itself---and you could therefore, in theory, harm your chances with a particular image, if it appeared to be "grossly" mis-categorized. But there's always an exception to every rule, too ;)

Thank you all so much for clarifying the category. Christopher, thanks for the headsup on "mis-categorized" photos. I was wondering about that as well. So, BP will NOT re-categorize your submitted photos if you accidently submitted it in the wrong category.

Correct... only you can assign your category... So if you accidentally load a formal portrait of a family member into the "Animals" category---well, I suppose it depends on the relative ;) --- but you're probably not likely to beat out any of the actual animal images submitted in that category. BP won't reclassify it for you, and they would (presumably) end up skipping over it as a poor choice of category.
